Mit der Einsatzmeldung „Person in Maschine eingeklemmt“ wurden am Donnerstagabend, 28.05.26 die Abteilungen Flehingen und Oberderdingen, der Rüstwagen der Feuerwehr Bretten sowie die Führungsgruppe Unterkreis Bretten-Ost um 17.24 Uhr von der integrierten Leitstelle Karlsruhe zu einem Technischen Hilfeleistungseinsatz außerorts zum Gebiet „In den Seegärten“ / Gewann „Katzensteig“ im Stadtteil Flehingen in Richtung Zaisenhausen alarmiert. Von dort wurde eine unter einem Aufsitzrasenmäher eingeklemmte Person gemeldet.

Aufgrund der räumlichen Nähe zur Einsatzstelle an der ehemaligen Bundesstraße 293 / Verlängerung Franz-von-Sickingen-Straße meldeten sich einsatzbereite Angehörige der Feuerwehr Zaisenhausen und boten Unterstützung an. Die Kräfte aus Zaisenhausen trafen danach auch zuerst an der Unfallstelle auf freiem Feld ein. Passanten konnten die mit einem Bein unter dem Mäher eingeklemmte Person mit Muskelkraft und ohne den Einsatz von Geräten beim Eintreffen bereits befreien und dem Rettungsdienst übergeben, so dass ein Großteil der alarmierten bzw. anrückenden Kräfte von Feuerwehr und Rettungsdienst den Einsatz abbrechen konnten. Nach der Erstversorgung wurde der Verletzte in eine Klinik verbracht. Glücklicherweise gab es keinen Messerkontakt, so dass die Verletzungen weniger schwer waren.

Im Einsatz bzw. in Bereitstellung waren 11 Feuerwehrangehörige der Abteilung Flehingen mit dem Hilfeleistungslöschgruppenfahrzeug HLF 16/20, 18 Feuerwehrangehörige der Abteilung Oberderdingen mit dem Hilfeleistungslöschgruppenfahrzeug HLF 20, dem Gerätewagen-Logistik GW-L 2 (Einsatzabbruch auf Anfahrt) und dem Einsatzleitwagen ELW 1. Von der Feuerwehr Zaisenhausen waren neun Kräfte mit dem Hilfeleistungslöschgruppenfahrzeug HLF 10 vor Ort. Die Feuerwehr Bretten war mit drei Kräften und dem Rüstwagen RW auf der Anfahrt, konnte diese aber abbrechen. Die alarmierte Führungsgruppe, der Rettungshubschrauber Christoph 43 der DRF Luftrettung aus Karlsruhe, der Kreisbrandmeister und der Organisatorischer Leiter Rettungsdienst konnten den Einsatz ebenfalls abbrechen. Der Rettungsdienst des DRK-Kreisverbands Karlsruhe war mit zwei Mitarbeitenden und einem Rettungswagen RTW von der Wache Oberderdingen im Einsatz. Zudem waren zwei Helfende der Notfallhilfe des DRK-Ortsvereins Flehingen mit einem Einsatzfahrzeug vor Ort. Einsatzende war gegen 18.20 Uhr.
